    Jamaica weather: trough lingers, brace for occasional showers

    Jamaica weather forecast at 5am Friday, October 4, 2019 by the Meteorological Service Division.

    SIGNIFICANT FEATURE… A trough across the northwestern Caribbean. Additionally, there is a weak area of low pressure across the northern Caribbean.

    Comment… The weak area of low pressure across the northern Caribbean is projected to induce a trough across Jamaica later today, and this trough is expected to linger across the island throughout the weekend. Cloudy conditions with occasional showers are expected to persist through to Sunday as a result. On Monday, a high pressure ridge is expected to build across Jamaica.

    This Afternoon… Showers and thunderstorms mainly across sections of northern and southwestern parishes, otherwise cloudy.

    A Small Craft Warning is now in effect for inshore areas of the north and south coasts and offshore areas of the north coast due to strong winds and rough seas in the vicinity of thundershowers.
